WATER – WHY WE NEED IT!

“WATER WATER EVERYWHERE AND NOT A DROP TO DRINK…  WRONG.    It IS everywhere and you SHOULD BE drinking it!!!

*WATER is the most important nutrient in the body (70% of our muscles and brain).  Only oxygen is craved more by the body than WATER.

*The recommended daily intake of WATER is 8 eight ounce glasses per day, and more if you are exercising on a regular basis.  For Bootcampers, you should be drinking water before, during, and after each session (NEVER drink large amounts at one time, space it out all day long).

*Most Americans do not consume sufficient WATER every day to meet their bodies’ most basic requirements (75% are chronically dehydrated).

*Signs of dehydration – tiredness, trouble thinking or remembering, headache, darker than usual urine.

*You must drink before you get thirsty!  If you wait until you are thirsty, you are already slightly dehydrated.  Thirst is an unreliable indicator of your hydration needs (and in 1/3 of Americans, it is so weak it is often mistaken for hunger).

*Lack of WATER is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

*Even mild dehydration will slow down your metabolism as much as 3% (your metabolism is responsible for burning around 65% of your daily calories).
